Brass Instruments
Unlike say the piano or keyboard, which automatically produces sound when a key is pressed, 
brass players must learn to produce the sound and develop subsequent tone.
Brass players learn/are able to vary the pitch of their buzzing lips.
In short, they learn to "sing" with their buzzing lips.
